Functional accessories

Functional accessories include items that concerns the engineering and working of the door, such as hidden hinge, bolts, spy hole, controlled opening security device, motorized lock, personally coded keys and Threshold and thermal/acoustic insulation.

Hidden Hinge
Hidden Hinge

A nice design touch is that the Perfecta door fits flush with the surrounding architrave, and has a hidden hinge enabling it to open to 135°.
An ideal door for rooms where the wall is clad, for example, in wood panelling that matches the door.

Bolts
Bolts

For added security, Silvelox doors incorporate three types of bolts.

• Fixed bolts: These are on the hinge side of the door and engage with the frame and counter-frame when the door is closed.
• Moving bolts: On the opposite side to the fixed bolts, these engage when the lock is operated.
• Deviators: These are sited at the top and bottom of the door and also engage when the door is locked.
They increase the strength of the door against break-in attacks. Doors with a higher class of burglar-resistance have more bolts and deviators than those with lesser resistance.

Spy hole
Spy hole

A very popular accessory in the UK, the spy hole allows you to covertly see who is outside before you open the door. As an option, a video camera can be incorporated into the spy hole, which transmits wide-angle pictures to a separate screen.

Controlled opening security device
Controlled opening security device

This is a technologically-advanced version of the tried and trusted security chain. But there is no chain involved. If you are in doubt as to who is outside, simply turn an elegant little knob under the handle. This allows the door to be opened just a few centimetres so that you can see who is there, but the door cannot be opened fully until you have deactivated the device with a reverse turn of the knob

Motorised lock
Motorised lock

The Perfecta series is available with an optional motorised lock operated with an electronic key (transponder) and a backup system that ensures use even in the event of a power cut.

Personally coded keys
Personally coded keys

Each entrance door is supplied with a number of keys (Perfecta has 5 homeowner keys, 3 cylinder keys and 1 site key; Optima has 3 cylinder keys + 1 site key; Valida has 3 sage keys + 1 site key).

Keys are supplied with a Security Card, on which is a code. Should you need further copies of the keys, simply provide Silvelox with the code, or go to an authorised CISA point. For Valida it is necessary to also deliver a copy of the key. If requested then the Silvelox garage and entrance door key can be the same.

Threshold and thermal/acoustic insulation
Threshold and thermal/acoustic insulation

Each series of Silvelox doors has different characteristics regarding its threshold and levels of thermal/acoustic insulation. For example, some will offer higher levels of water resistance, air permeability and noise reduction than others. However, every series can be upgraded with a different type of threshold, to offer better performance.

The 3 types of threshold (from the more resistant to the less resistant) are:
• stainless steel double contact threshold
• aluminium single contact threshold
• draft excluder built into door leaf base
